Christmas advice from Direct Line home insurance
Home contents insurance firm Direct Line has reminded Britons to seek out adequate cover before Christmas.
The provider of Direct Line home buildings insurance suggests that opportunistic thieves operate over the seasonal period, which could prove costly to those homeowners without adequate protection.
Carmel McCarthy, spokesperson for Direct Line Home Insurance, said: "We would urge homeowners to reassess their insurance needs on a regular basis, particularly during the Christmas period when homes are full of expensive items."
The content home insurance advice follows the upcoming launch of the new iPhone, widely tipped as this year's Christmas list must-have.
Priced at £269, experts expect 200,000 iPhones to be sold over the next few weeks.
Recent research from Direct Line revealed that accidental damage caused to homes by toddlers has led to a reduction in the value of a property by almost £2,000.
