Churchill house insurance warns against tradesmen
Churchill house insurance has warned consumers over the cost of annual leave in waiting for tradespeople and deliveries each year.
The buildings and contents home insurance provider has said that employees taking days off from work costs about £1.1 billion per year.
Research from the home contents insurance also found that about three per cent of people have taken 'sickies' in order when waiting for tradespeople or deliveries.
Martin Scott, head of Churchill house insurance, commented: "Our research clearly shows there is a hidden cost to householders when having repairs undertaken or receiving deliveries which few of us consider.
"In an emergency, home insurers often offer helplines providing contact details of reputable tradesmen even if a claim isn't being made."
Churchill is responsible for contents and home insurance and fielded about 1,800 respondents when collating the research.
The news follows reports yesterday from AA that people could save about £120 through a compare house contents insurance search conducted online.
